The Simmons Electronic Drums Virtual Museum +++ galleries +++ sound samples +++ manuals +++ downloads +++ flyer +++ service +++
+++ new: +++
- [2009-06-24] Time to point to my new Youtube channel.
little by little I will add demo videos of all Simmonsmuseum inventory. At least 4 videos are already published
- [2009-06-17] BBQ at the home of the e-drum whisperer. Together with Oli Rubow, likely Germany's most innovative and best known e-drummer I travelled to Michael Buchner's home for a cool bbq and equipment event. The complete report will follow in the September edition of Germany's Sticks magazine
- [2009-05-18] Simmonsmuseum on Youtube: My first Simmons demo is now online! I started with a self-recorded playalong featuring my red SDSV
- [2009-03-27] It's done. After the provider's changed, simmonsmuseum is even bigger, faster and ready for future ideas!
- [2009-02-24] A batch of reviews has just arrived: SDS7, SDS8, SDS2000 and Trixer. Available for download soon!
- [2009-02-03] Server Update: Simmonsmuseum has continously almost reached the limit of web space and performance. Therefor the site will move to another hoster soon. With 10GB of web space and faster access Simmonsmuseum.com will be prepared for the next years.
- [2009-02-02] Glyn Thomas was so kind to share a vintage commercial video clip with us. It features 12-years old Josh Freeze on a CB700 drum kit (also known as SDS800)
- [2009-01-29] A long desired analog Musicaid Clap Trap is on the way to Simmonsmseum.com. On the one hand not really a bargain, but, you know, one of these "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunities. I could not resist. Photos and sound samples will follow soon...
- [2008-12-18] It was an exciting year! 15 years after the Simmons company collapsed we had SDSV workshops with Sibi Siebert and the Simmonsmuseum had been honored in the German Sticks magazine. Also this year I have received countless kind emails and guestbook postings. Thanks to you all! It is still great fun to maintain this site for you Simmons guys out there. Thanks to all who have been helping that Simmons drums will not be forgotten. I can already announce that next year won't become less exciting. Simmons will be present in the media, there will be more workshops and I am planning to do some excibitions with cooperation partners. So stay tuned. Have a nice christmas and a happy new year 2009!
- [2008-11-25] Send me pictures of your Simmons gear and make your gear public! I am planning a gallery area filled with pics and stories about YOU and YOUR sets. Become a part of simmonsmuseum.com!
- [2008-10-13] The "Ludwigsburger Trommeltage" had been a great show. Again Sibi Siebert set an accent with his "space ship SDSV" and surprise the audiencs... [more]
- [2008-10-13] The current issue of Sound&Recording features a 2 page special about my SDS3. Both history and technology of this great sounding device is very well described by editor Bernhard Lösener. In the magazine you will find a download code for samples and loops. Another recommendation is a feature of Germany's motor of innovation concerning E-Beats: Oli Rubow
- [2008-10-09] New FAQ area: Here you can find answers to those questions which I had been asked significantly often in the past.
- [2008-09-30] New article about Simmons in the German Democratic Republic (GDR). Unfortunately in German but the main focus is the formulation within this newspaper. It's typical socialist slang and pretty funny. Thanks to Wolfram who provided this piece of history
- [2008-09-30] I studiously scanned a batch of so far unprocessed adds and reviews. This means about 100MB of fresh PDF docs are for download now. Basically adds or search for reviews
- [2008-09-26] Simmonsmuseum.com special in the Sticks magazine! I would have never expected a 3 page full color special about my Simmons collection when I asked the eitorial office to print the link of my site. However - Thanks to everybody who helped this article becoming as cool as it is! And also thanks for all the kind mails I've received so far!
- [2008-09-16] The vintage show goes on: On Octobre 12th Sibi Siebert's Simmons SDSV performance will be part of the Ludwigsburger Trommeltage (just followed by Alan White, drummer of Yes and former loyal Simmons user).
- [2008-09-01] The PPC drumnight was phantastic! Beside performances of some of the world's famous drummers the SDSV was a star as well and somehow minded like a just landed U.F.O.[more]
Please leave a feedback in my guestbook. Thanks for your visit!
